With summer on the horizon, Look Fantastic have come up with the perfect theme accompanied by a matching box design and a very generous line-up for their ‘Get the Glow’ edit and I’ve got to admit I think it’s one of the best curations I’ve received from them this year. Touching on a good area of beauty, this edit does exactly what it intends to and puts a host of pre-prep summer essentials in the spotlight from both well-known and under the radar brands and it was certainly refreshing to see a box filled with mostly new discoveries this month.
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of both full size and generous sized samples and showcases products from James Read, System Professional, Mellow, Real Chemistry, Scrub Love, Nuface and Glov.
1. James Read H20 Gradual Tan Mist – Travel size 30ml
A Get the Glow theme wouldn’t be complete without a tanning product and this lightweight travel friendly mist from James Read offers the ultimate gradual tanning experience and with it’s cooling properties can even be used as a makeup primer and setter. The formula is colourless, stain-free and is infused with skin beautifying minerals to keep the skin hydrated.
2. System Professional Luxe Oil – Full Size 30ml RRP £15.25
System Professional is just one of the new discoveries inside this month’s box and it comes in the form of their Luxe Oil, a multi-tasking elixir that treats dry, damage hair and penetrates deep into hair fibres to improve texture and manageability. Utilising innovative System Professional LuxeCode Technology, the nourishing formula is suitable for all hair types and reconstructs the hair from within and defends against dryness, whilst Argan, Almond and Jojoba Oils leave hair soft and smooth. This can be used on wet hair as a leave-in treatment, cutting lotion or styling aid, or on dry hair as a finishing product for mirror-like shine and long-lasting frizz control.
3. Scrub Love Coconut Cranberry Body Scrub – Travel size 100g
Scrub Love are literally everywhere right now in the beauty box realm and although I have enough scrub to last me a good couple of years this one does sound rather summery with the addition of cranberry. This skin brightening body scrub penetrates deep into skin and is an anti-oxidant rich exfoliator that encourages nutrient absorption, coconut shell removes dead skin cells whilst cranberry oils moisturise and enhance radiance.
4. Mellow Baked Eyeshadow – Full Size RRP £6.00
On the make-up front we have a full sized baked eyeshadow in the shade Cream from Mellow and I’m so pleased Look Fantastic included such a wearable shade. This pigmented shadow promises to give gorgeous shimmer for a bright luminous finish.
5. Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel – Sample Size 7ml
Real Chemistry is another completely new brand discovery for me and they are a technology based and innovative skincare company who help with specific skin conditions and focus on less harsh ways to exfoliate and products that you can use both alone and with your daily skincare products.
The peel by Real Chemistry really intrigued me when I first read the instructions and you basically apply and roll off your dead skin without any chemicals or abrasives – it’s not the most glamorous way to exfoliate that’s for sure! The formula is a thick clear gel that made it a little tricky to figure out if I had applied it evenly across my face but it did seem to peel off my dead skin and left my skin feeling super soft, other than that though I don’t think it was amazingly different from other exfoliating masks/scrubs that I’ve tried but it was definitely an interesting experience!
6. NuFACE Prep-N-Glow Dual-sided Cloth – x1
The NuFACE Prep-N-Glow Cloth is a triple-action face wipe that works to clean, exfoliate and hydrate your complexion. Each dual-sided cleansing cloth features a soft cotton lace side to gently remove makeup, dirt and impurities, and an exfoliating side with micro-dots to delicately polish and refine skin and is infused with a blend of Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidants and minerals to refresh and brighten the face, whilst anti-ageing ingredients help to smoothen to promote a radiant, younger-looking complexion. Skin feels soft, clean and purified.

My Verdict
I think you’ll agree, Look Fantastic delivered on all fronts and showcased a solid and well-rounded line-up for their ‘Get the Glow’ edition and as much as I love seeing brands that I love and know, it was such a nice change to see all the new discoveries they put in the spotlight this month. Covering a good balance of beauty ranging from skin and body care, make-up and a hair product in the form of both travel sized samples and full sizes there was lots to delve into, everything gelled together perfectly and other than the tanning product which won’t be for everyone I think the remainder are universal enough for everyone so you’re bound to come across some favourites. I’ve not had the opporunity to try everything as of yet as my box arrived later than usual but on first impressions, I think Look Fantastic have put together another well-curated edtion and it includes a host of products to keep our hair and skin glowing no matter what the weather throws at us – I think it’s definitely one of their best editions so far this year.
