Get ready to sit back and relax as the May Glossybox Daydreamer Edition not only comes dressed in a dreamy designed box (it’s a keeper!) but I’m really loving the focus on cruelty-free beauty this month and all the new discoveries they’ve got on board. In comparison to last month which to be fair was going to be a tough edit to beat, the contents for May didn’t particularly wow me but everything appears to fit pretty easily into my current routine apart from the tea!

If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my May Glossybox:

Beauty boxes are great for discovering the latest and greatest trends and this month all subscribers can expect to see an innovative and new launch from GELICITY in the form of their Luxury Jelly Foot Soak (Full Size RRP £4.99). This water to gel foot soak is infused with lavender and lemongrass to provide soothing and uplifting properties. It also contains gel beads to massage and caresses the feet, providing a relaxing and soothing experience. I’ve never tried anything like this before and you simply add water to the powder to activate the gel. I’m really looking forward to treating my feet to this.

Up next we have the Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo and Conditioner duo (Travel Size RRP £3.98 100ml each) and I love that Glossybox included both as it’s a real bug bear of mine to receive just a shampoo or just a conditioner so they definitely deserve extra points for that! The True soft range contains a gentle formula for dry hair and promises to soften, moisturise and strengthens the structure of the hair. A salon-perfect formula with smoothing argan oil to reduce frizz and fight static electricity. It’s kind to the hair too as it’s free from sulphates and parabens and their Colour Guard Complex protects the hair and reduces the loss of colour associated with washing, heat styling, UV rays and free radicals.

Although I have no shortage of make-up removers amongst my stash, I’m always happy to try a new one and the KUESHI Double Effect Make Up Remover (Full Size 100ml RRP £10.50) is another addition out of the box that I’ll be able to get use out of. This clear solution is rich in soft oils and works with the blue solution to remove makeup gently leaving your skin refreshed and cleansed. To activate the solution you do need to shake the bottle being using.

I already have this exact palette thanks to another beauty box so it’s hard for me to get excited about this but it is a lovely product. The Trifle Cosmetics Praline Palette (Full Size RRP £15.55) contains a variety of multi functional eye shadows that can be used wet or dry and range from a neutral bronze to wearable khaki and deep eggplant. Formulated with creamy, coated micronized pigments to reduce shadow fall-out, these unique powders are hot-pressed for a strong yet velvety smooth texture. The palette comes complete with a large mirror and double-ended sponge applicators. The packaging is so adorable!

Lastly and an extra treat inside this month’s box is the WE ARE TEA Earl Grey or Sleep Teabag.

My Verdict

Overall, the May Glossybox offers a decent range of products to experiment with, including makeup, skin and body care and hair care all of which are presented inside a dreamy designed box and the fact that every single item is cruelty-free is just an added bonus! Line-up wise, what they’ve picked out is pretty versatile and usable for almost everyone apart from the tea (not a tea lover – sorry!). My personal box favourites and the items I’m particularly excited to try out is the foot soak (so happy to have discovered a new cruelty-free beauty brand), the Kueshi make-up remover and the hair duo from Maria Nila. If you’ve already incorporated a cruelty-free beauty regime or thinking of making the switch then it’s definitely worth picking up this month’s edition.
