Today I’m sharing a shiny new beauty box concept that’s been around for a couple of month’s now called the With Love Beauty Box and I think you’re going to love it. For me personally the whole enjoyment and excitement of beauty boxes is that surprise factor however on the flip side this approach also means that you’re likely to receive items that you may never use but With Love Beauty Box have stepped it up a notch and allow their customers to choose what they don’t want in their box from a list that they send out 24 hours after the purchase. Also unlike majority of the beauty boxes, there is no monthly subscription meaning you simply buy a box as and when your heart desires putting you more in control and bypassing those cancellation policies.
Let’s see if the April edition met my likes from the list I submitted:
We’re off to fantastic start as the first item out of my box is the Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Fresh Fragrant Water Natural Spray (Full size 100ml RRP £38.50) something I’ve sampled previously and really loved so I’m delighted to have a full sized bottle, it’s such a generous addition. At its heart, an extract of fig bud blended with the distilled precious essences of caraway seed perfected by the sensual notes of fig and grapefruit and is inspired by a Mediterranean journey to the heart of the Esterel, it unveils an irresistible harmony to deliver all the happiness of a relaxing wellbeing. When I first received a sample of this it was love at first sniff and is one of those scents that instantly transports you to a beach on a hot summers day thanks to the floral and fruity notes.
Up next and a beneficial product for my coloured hair is the Aussie Colour Mate Conditioner (Travel size 75ml) which is marketed a special formula containing extract of Australian Wild Peach to help keep coloured hair vibrant and in great condition. It smoothly conditions the hair, leaving it brilliantly vibrant and smooth. It’s a shame they didn’t include the accompanying shampoo to really road test this range but nonetheless it’s definitely something that will get used up and it’s gonna last me a hell of a long time as I never seem to to run out of conditioner as quickly as shampoo!
If you’re regular reader you’ll know that I’m a self-obsessed nail varnish addict so I of course made sure that nail varnish was not crossed off the list! The Essie Nail Varnish (Full size) in the shade Bump up the Pumps is the perfect transitional shade for this time of the year, it’s a such a pretty coral hue that isn’t too bright!
Moving onto make-up we have the L’Oreal Illuminating Drops which is described as a highly pigmented liquid illuminator and blends seamlessly, for easy, flawless application, bold shimmer and an all-day glow. You can use the concentrated glow drops under your foundation, mixed with your foundation or use alone as a highlighter for an instant glow effect. The shade looks very similar to Benefit’s High Beam!
Last but not least is the Cargo Lipgloss (Full size RRP), a super high shine lip gloss that delivers intense, lasting colour with a creamy, moisturising formula that never feels sticky. I’m not going to lie but I’m just not into gloss formulas but this one isn’t too bad and feels quite comfortable on the lips. Shade-wise I think there were different variations from box to box and I received Tuscany which gives a really subtle wash of colour with some shimmer thrown in!
My Verdict
So there you have it, my unboxing and review of the fairly new With Love Beauty Box and the big question is did they deliver? Yes they did on all fronts! On the subject of what I like receiving inside my beauty boxes they pretty much nailed the contents especially when I take into account how fussy I can be! The only item I wasn’t a fan of was the Cargo Lipgloss but other than that I can’t fault my contents or the value at all plus four out of the five items were full size which adds to the appeal of this box even more. Moving onto the presentation, the packaging is very minimal without any branding but I’d rather that money be spent on the products so for me personally this didn’t bother me at all. Overall I think this new launch definitely has the potential to be a great one especially with what they are offering to their customers in terms of customisation and being able to purchase boxes without being tied into a subscription. I’m really looking forward to seeing how their journey unfolds and I hope that the quality remains consistent with their future curations.
