I’m a little late to the party this month with my Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Box review but I think you’ll agree I’ve definitely saved the best till last! Featuring the likes of Dior, Benefit, Nars and Too Faced, their August edition is another favourite of mine from this year and again features a make up centric line-up with all full sizes which adds to the appeal even more.
If you’re new to Look Incredible they offer three types of beauty boxes which range from £25 to £65 and aim to deliver lust worthy beauty treats (mainly make-up) from brands we all love and know straight to your door and no spoilers are released so it’s a complete surprise when it arrives.
Here’s what I received inside the August Deluxe edition:
Up first and something that caught my attention straight away was the oh so pretty Dior Addict Lipstick (Full Size RRP £28.50), I mean how can you not be excited by this! I’ve not delved into Dior’s lipstick collection so this was such a nice introduction. With quite a few shade variants, I received Tailleur Bar but when I opened up the lipstick it turned out to be a completely different shade so it obviously had the wrong label on it! I think I would have preferred the other shade as this one is a lot more brighter which I doubt I’ll wear now summer is coming to a close. Having said that though not all is lost as I can finally say I tried one of Dior’s lipsticks and I really liked the formula!
Beauty boxes are great for bringing new brands and products to your attention but isn’t it great when a long standing favourite turns up inside…cue the benefit They’re Real! Mascara in Black (Full size £21.50)! In terms of mascara’s this one ranks high on my list and not only works well in lengthening and volumising my lashes but does an equally good job at separating the lashes too.
I’m a huge fan of Nars so it was exciting to see their Dual Intensity Blush (Full Size RRP £30.00) amongst the line-up. This palette combines two contrasting cheek colours – one being a pale pink highlighter and the other is a deep pink rose blush and can be used wet or dry depending on the desired effect. I love pink highlighters in general so naturally I was smitten with this shade which imparts a softly frosted sheen to a full-on frosted finish on the cheeks. The brighter pop of pink is a little scary but it can be blended out for a more soft and diffused look providing you’re not too heavy handed!
Last out of the box is the Too Faced Pure Gold Loose Glitter (Full Size £17.00) which is infused with real gold and boasts a buildable formula that can be used anywhere you want to amp up the glamour, as an eyeshadow, highlighter, lip topper, or body shimmer. Press it on top of Glitter Glue by Too Faced for perfect hold – or blow it from your hand in a golden puff to really make an entrance (oh gosh imagine the mess!)
My Verdict
Apart from one minor disappointment in the form of the Dior lipstick which was labelled the wrong shade, I think this month’s edit is one of my favourites from this year so far and featured such a good line-up of popular brands. Although I was little gutted with the lipstick shade, it was still a beneficial addition for me as I got to try out the formula plus I’m really happy to have a back up of one of favourite mascara. The Nars blush is an absolute stunner and even though I can’t see myself using the darker pop of pink the pretty highlighter makes up for it!
