Can you believe the Look Fantastic Beauty Box turns 4 this month so first things first a huge Happy Birthday and can we also take a moment to admire the ever so pretty box design –it’s really giving me those party vibes! It’s been 6 month’s since my last review and needless to say I’ve had a really good break but if you were to ask me if I’ve seen any major improvements my answer would be no. With this in mind, I’m not gonna lie I had high hopes really high hopes for their birthday edition and it’s not a bad edition by no means but for me personally this is yet again another reminder why I took a break in the first place. Without further ado, here’s my unboxing and thoughts on this month’s curation:

Up first we have the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer (Travel size 40ml) and I tell no word of a lie I could probably open up my very own concession store as this product is a regular visitor inside beauty boxes! As lovely as this treatment is, it just doesn’t excite me anymore but if your hair is a little frazzled from summer then this cult classic and multi-award winning pre-shampoo conditioning treatment delivers a rush of moisture into the hairs cuticle and hair is left intensely nourished, healthy and shiny, without being weighed down.

Moving onto skin care and no stranger to the Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the Eve Lom Cleanser + Half sized woven Muslin Cloth (Travel size 20ml) and although it’s another one of those products that pops up a lot, I really like using this cleanser especially after a night out or when my skin needs some extra loving but come on guys this is like the 3rd time it’s been featured! Suitable for even the most sensitive skin, this pioneering cult beauty balm which featured in Vogue Magazine was recognised as probably the best cleanser in the world. Whilst its heavenly formula removes traces of make-up including waterproof mascara it also works well as decongesting, toning and exfoliating the skin gently. The scent is really nice too and stems from a bespoke blend of skin loving ingredients such as Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Cloves and Hops.

Sticking to skin care is the Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask (sample size 5ml) which has very quickly become one of my favourite masks and although the sample is on the small side, you’ll be able to get at least two applications. Harnessing a range of anti-ageing benefits, this clay mask with Hungarian Moor Mud and Hectorite clay expertly energises, hydrates and protects your skin, penetrating deep down to visibly lift and brighten your skin.

Next out of the box we have the Lord & Berry Strobing pencil and once again it’s another repeat from a previous edition. Creamy and lightweight in texture, this strobing pencil really exudes summer radiance and is a great way to accentuate key features without looking like a disco ball!

Who knew Mane ‘N Tail did hand cream! I certainly didn’t so it was a nice surprise to see their Hoofmaker Original Hand And Nail Therapy (57g) amongst the contents. Fast-absorbing and non-greasy, the moisturising, protein-enriched formula targets cracked, dry skin on the hands, feet and body, whilst strengthening and protecting nails to leave them strong and healthy. Perfect for softening rough, callused areas, you can expect smooth, comfortable and rejuvenated skin all over the body. I do love a good hand cream and this one surprisingly isn’t greasy and really hydrates the skin.

Last but not least, I received the Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil (sample size 9ml), an invigorating concoction of Grapefruit, Rosemary and Juniper essential oils help to shrug off any sluggishness before showering and prepare for a long day ahead – a very welcome addition!

My Verdict

As you’ve probably gathered, I think I was more in love with design of the box and those holographic shreds as opposed to the contents and this is why: For me personally, the line up was somewhat of a let-down due to a few product repeats and the fact that they focused on brands that are continually heavily represented – not everything but enough to be noticed especially if you’ve been a loyal subscriber. Anyway on a positive note there are some really useful additions for the upcoming winter months and they’ve also treated us to some luxe samples from Omorvicza and Eve Lom so if you’ve been curious about their products or have spotted something you already love using then it’s definitely worth picking up plus all the sample sizes are pretty decent to be fair not forgetting the addition of the sweets which always goes down well if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me! Favourites so far for me include the hand cream and the shower oil!
