I much prefer summer scents so I was really intrigued to see what Secret Scent Box had in store for their October edit and if the scents included reflected the change in season. It’s safe to say they did a great job as always picking the right fragrances for autumn and there’s a couple that I really like from the selection this month.
If you’re new to Secret Scent Box, it’s a monthly subscription that contains three fragrances with at least 30 days use and with popular perfume houses within their portfolio it’s the perfect destination to trial new launches and classics in the comfort of your own home and also boasts being letter box friendly too so you don’t have to worry about missed deliveries!
Here’s what they featured inside their October edition:
1. Burberry London
Top notes: rose and honeysuckle Heart notes: tiare flower, jasmine and peony and a hint of fresh clementine zest Base notes: sandalwood, musk and patchouli
Up first and my least favourite from this month’s selection is Burberry London. For me personally, this was far too strong due to the jasmine and reminded me of one those scents that end up giving you a headache after a while!
2. Jimmy Choo Fever
Top Note: Black Plum Nectar Heart Note: Heliotrope Base Note: Roasted Tonka Bean
Jimmy Choo describes this as a hypnotic play on contrasts between floral and gourmand and is an addictive new scent that carries its wearer into the night, leaving an addictive sensual trail behind her. Just by reading this description I knew I was going to like this one, it’s sweet, mysterious yet playful at the same time!
3. FCUK Connect Her
Top notes: Lotus, Bergamot and Lily-of-the-Valley Heart notes: Jasmine, Violet and Peony Base notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Virginia Cedar and Amber
This Eau de Toilette is a floral perfume which is perfect for everyday wear. The sweet and feminine notes are just what I go for when it comes to everyday fragrances
My Verdict
Secret Scent Box definitely had autumn in mind when they curated this month’s edit and they’ve done such a great job sourcing a selection of both day and night scents. There’s a couple of scents that I wouldn’t have even considered sniffing if I walked past them in a department store and this subscription really encourages you to try out different brands. Out of three I think the Jimmy Choo and the FCUK scent were my absolute favourites. If you frequently like to mix up your perfume and don’t want to commit to buying full size bottles, or want to experiment a bit then it’s definitely worth checking out this subscription.
