With Christmas soon approaching (how did that even happen so quick!) there’s so much to look forward to but for now let’s focus on this month’s Glossybox which is pretty AH-mazing! Their November edition which is themed SOS Beauty kind of feels extra special like an early Christmas gift as this month all subscribers can expect to see a full size Huda Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick worth £18.00! Showstopper aside, there’s a good balance of beauty in the form of deluxe samples and full sizes and features skin care and a hair product in addition to make-up and perfume – it’s a good one and no surprise that it sold out within a week!
If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both deluxe-sized and full-size products and covers all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, make-up and everything else in between from brands we all love and know as well as those hidden gems too! The box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents which always exceed the overall subscription price.
Here’s what I received inside my November Glossybox:
Up first and the main showstopper amongst the line-up is of course the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick (Full size RRP £18.00) and subscribers can expect to see either the shade Venus or Girlfriend, both of which fall within the nude category. I received Venus and unfortunately it’s not something I can see myself wearing if I’m honest as the shade just doesn’t suit my pale skin which makes me really sad as the I really like the formula. I think Girlfriend would have been more wearable for me.
Sticking to make-up we have the Stylondon Eaton Eyeshadow Palette (Full size £9.99) and it’s my favourite item out of the box this month! The palette contains a mixture of 9 matte and sheen shades and is mineral based, paraben free, cruelty free with added Vitamin E. It has decent pigment and the colours are just so gorgeous! There’s a nice mix of warm-toned shimmers and mattes making it the perfect option for autumn/winter. I do wish it had a mirror in it though!
On the skin care front we have the Content Micro-Derm Regenerator (Travel size), a two-in-one cleanser and gentle exfoliator enhanced with the same crystals used in professional microdermabrasion treatments. It soothes and purifies skin as it effectively cleanses and polishes and removes dead skin cells leaving the skin soft, hydrated, and healthy-looking.
Up next is the Your Good Skin Balancing Skin Concentrate (sample size), a skin care line which Boots launched last year co-created by a community of thousands of women. The Balancing Skin Concentrate works to restore and maintain skin’s natural balance and promises to improve the five key signs of healthy looking skin – texture, evenness in tone, radiance, moisture levels and oiliness.
Moving onto hair care is the Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment (Travel size), a brand whose products I’ve really enjoyed trying. This deeply conditioning mask treatment repairs dry, damaged hair by nourishing each strand, leaving hair visibly healthier, stronger, and shinier. It also repels dirt so you can shampoo and style less often for a healthier hair care routine and is safe for chemically treated hair.
Last but not least we have a bonus sixth product in the form of Chloé Nomade (Sample vial) which is described as a combination of oak moss and freesia which captures the spirit of a woman open to the beauty of the world.
My Verdict
This was a great box and the addition of the full-sized Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick made it even more special and even though the nude shade didn’t suit my complexion, it was a good opportunity to try out the formula as I love a good matte liquid lipstick and this one ranks quite high on my list! While the liquid lipstick is going to get the most attention from subscribers I’m really intrigued by the skin and hair care additions this month with the eyeshadow palette being my absolute favourite from the line up so far! Glossybox definitely have their work cut out for their Christmas edition!
