As well as the Head to Toe Bags, Beauteque also have a monthly subscription bag for a guaranteed K Beauty fix each month. The April 2015 BB Bag has arrived and this month’s theme is Mad for Plaid which is focused more towards the cosmetic bag itself rather than the products inside. This edition contains an overhaul of products featuring mainly skin and body care alongside a lifestyle item in the form of a scary razor! The bag boasts an impressive seven full sized products with a value of around £45.71. As with all of the BB Bags subscribers have an opportunity to chose some variations of the products, leaving the remainder of what you receive a complete surprise, a concept that I really love about Beauteque and as per every month you can expect to see a bag crammed with goodies.

The BB Bag, known as the Beauteque Bag is monthly beauty bag containing 5-6 Korean beauty products ranging from skincare, make up, hair and bodycare along with a lifestyle item or a beauty tool. The impressive factor is that all of the products are full-sized so you really are getting great value for money as well as discovering korean brands which aren’t readily available in the UK.

The contents as always come presented in a bag as opposed to a box and they’re great for traveling or weekend breaks.

1. Hanaka Magic Garden Series Sheet Masks – Full Size x2 RRP £2.61

Hanaka isn’t a brand I’ve heard of before and inside this months bag you can expect to see two different sheet masks from their collection.

The Marigold Vitamin A mask is for oil control and sounds perfect for my skin type as it claims to neutralise shine and take care of sebum production.

The Rose Mask is probably more suited for dryer skin types and helps to lock in moisture whilst brightening the complexion too.

2. Hanaka Camellia Powder Wash – Full Size RRP £7.18

As well as the masks above, there’s also a handy pack of powder cleansers which come in seven single-use sachets from Hanaka.

The powder contains 25% Amino Acid with Camellia and Hyaluronic Acid to renew the skin and sweeps away impurities for perfectly balanced skin and is alcohol and fragrance free.

I really like this concept and the single-use sachets are travel-friendly too, perfect for when you’re traveling light.

3.  Its Skin Macaron Lip Balm – Full Size RRP £5.88

Due to it’s cuteness this lip balm is definitely one of the highlights within this month’s bag, it’s utterly adorable and really mimics the real thing itself.

There’s a few scent variants you can choose from and I opted for Grape as I appear to have every other flavour going! The formula promises to provides moisture and nourishment to the lips and contains Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, shea butter and Chrysanthemum extracts.

The fruity scent is so lovely and it tastes good too! What I particularly like is that it’s not sticky and just leaves your lips feeling moist and soft. I’m so tempted to purchase the others from this collection.

4. Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack  – Full Size RRP £12.41

A sleeping pack is the last step in the Korean 7-step skin care ritual, I’ve not tried a lot of sleeping packs but this one contains honey extracts and essences which helps to nourish the skin alongside it’s antibacterial properties, and with Canola in the mix it’s the ideal product to heal and soothe the skin as you sleep.

The formula is housed within a cute glass honey pot and the consistency is quite thick and gloopy just like honey! I wasn’t too sure of the texture at first but to the touch it feels quite silky and providing this is used sparsely I can see this feeling quite comfortable on the skin. I’m looking forward to giving this a go.

5. Holika Holika S Body Jiggle Patch  – Full Size RRP £4.57

I’m quite happy to admit that I’ve got a couple of jiggly areas and whilst I’m usually quite skeptical about these types of products it was actually quite refreshing to see something a little different within the mix this month.

This intense care patch, with its sizzling bubbles,  firms specific areas whilst revitalising tired skin and you leave the patch on for around 30-40. Whether it’s effective or not, I think I’m more intrigued about those sizzling bubbles!

6. Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Cream – Full Size  RRP £7.84

It’s certainly time to swap out those heavy winter moisturisers for lighter alternatives and at the moment I’ve really been enjoying using gel-based serums for my oily skin so was happy to see this gel cream by Mizon.

This gel claims to hydrate and calm the skin with it’s gentle but potent hydrating power and ingredients. It contains quite impressive line up of ingredients such as deep sea, glacier, and coral water and birch tree sap and is suitable for all skin types, especially oily and acne-prone skin.

The gels is really nice to work with and sinks into the skin without leaving any residue but I’m not a fan of the scent as it’s quite overpowering and smells like an ocean breeze air freshener.

In terms of the formula I love it, it’s light, fresh and feels hydrating. I particularly love the cooling sensation making it ideal for the warmer months ahead. I’ve also discovered it works wonders as a primer too.

7. Razor –  RRP £5.22

One of the aspects I love about the Beauteque bags is that they also include either a lifestyle item or a beauty tool making the discovery not just lotions and potions but this month’s item was somewhat of a let down. I use razors all the time and usually I welcome them but the quality of this one isn’t great at all and feels rather cheap and tacky despite it’s over inflated price tag.

 My Verdict

I’m really impressed with this month’s edition which not only covers a good area of skin and body care but also includes a very generous amount of products, all of which are full sized featuring well-known Korean brands including alongside some new discoveries for me too. I’m not a huge fan of receiving too much skincare within one hit but this month’s bag is an exception as the majority seems to suited my skin type which is quite novel. In my opinion Beauteque are really stepping up the game with their bags and they have certainly got the concept spot on, although this month’s lifestyle item did burst my bubble slightly but there was still plenty within the bag to keep me interested.

The entire contents within the bag are all full sized with a value of  around £45.71 beating the cost of the bag which works out around £21.54 including shipping. It’s a small price to pay to discover Korean brands which aren’t available in the UK. I also love that I was able to customise a few options too and the remainder was a complete surprise.

Inside the box is also a product card which is in English so you won’t be lost in translation. Each product within the bag is listed on the card along with a brief description and the value.

If you love K Beauty, the Beauteque Bags are a great, affordable concept who deliver great Korean brands and the latest beauty trends straight to your door.
