The July Wantable Beauty Box has finally made it all the way from the USA and was kindly gifted to me by Wantable. I can confirm that I did not incur any custom charges on this box.

This was the last beauty box on my wishlist and it certainly was worth waiting for. This box truly has a special place in my beauty box collection and you will see why once you read on.

Wantable provide their customers with hand picked, curated and boutique makeup in a monthly subscription box at  $50 a month which works out to be around £30.00 this includes shipping and taxes. All their products  are full sized too. You can cancel, return, or skip at anytime!

There’s something very special about Wantable – They create unique customer profiles by asking customers a series of product and personality questions. They then use this data to introduce customers to assortments of products perfectly suited to their personal taste. If’s there’s a certain make up item or shade you don’t like they simply won’t send it to you.

As well as beauty boxes they also do an intimates box and an accessories box.

Judging by their previous boxes I have seen fab products in this box and all of them have been full-sized. The appeal factor for me was the fact that it’s mainly make up related items only. I also love discovering products from other countries it makes me feel that I am not missing out on anything!

July’s box included 4 full sized products and I can confirm that the items I received was spot on in conjunction with the beauty profile which I completed this includes the products to the colours I received and that in itself is impressive.

1.    Ofra Pressed Powder Blush in Cameleon – Full Size RRP £10.00

I was recently introduced to this brand in July’s Love Me Beauty Box and was pleasantly surprised with their eyeshadow.

This is a pressed powder blush which came in the shade Cameleon and is a pretty peach shade and has a great pigmented colour when applied. This can be applied wet or dry and can be used subtly during the day and more vibrantly at night.

This also has a secret mirror underneath the actual blush which is great for on the go touch-ups.

I love the shade of this blush. Certainly a product I will be keeping in my make up bag.

2.   Mirabella Lipstick in shade Fever  – Full Size RRP £14.00

A brand I’m not familiar with but I have seen Mirabella feature in a few American beauty boxes.

This came in the shade Fever which is a dashing and vibrant red. I don’t own that many red lipsticks so was pleased to see this inside the box.

The lipstick itself glided on smoothly and gave the most wonderful rich colour on my lips. This felt hydrating and moisturising on my lips and didn’t feel dry at all. This lipstick has all of the properties which a lip product should deliver in terms of it’s colour, the finish and it’s staying power.

3.  Tarina Tarantino Fleur De Lash Mascara   – Full Size RRP £12.00

New brand alert and not one that I have heard of.

Tarina Tarantino is an American costume jewelry and accessory designer, based in Los Angeles, California. Known for her flamboyant pink hair, she has been described as having “a pretty cult-like following in LA”. She also has a make-up line which is popular with the likes of celebrities and make up lovers alike.

Her make-up packaging is elegantly designed just like her jewelery and really does stand out giving you a feel of a luxurious high end brand.

This mascara promises to lengthen and volumise your lashes to give you traffic stopping lashes! Now that alone is a big statement!

The mascara itself is faceted just a like a jewel in a gunmetal tube making it quite unique in appearance.

The applicator brush was the ideal size and fully coated my lashes and the results were pretty amazing. This lengthened and made my lashes thicker with noticeable results and has certainly put some of my more expensive mascara’s to shame. Looks like I will be re-arranging my make-up bag this weekend. In with the new and out with old!

4.  Vincent Longo Lipstain with SPF15  – Full Size RRP £15.00

Another lipsick! I am really getting spoilt. Another new brand for me.

Vincent Longo Cosmetics has been a beauty and fashion insider’s make-up brand of choice. Known for their luxurious, high performance formulas and trend setting color palettes, the brand has developed a cult like following among stylish, sexy, self – confident women around the world. A-list actors and actresses, supermodels, professional make-up artists, film and television directors, beauty and fashion editors – those who utilize make-up on the job as well as for personal enhancement – share a special appreciation for how well our products work on the fashion runway, on-camera and in real life.

I received the shade Fleur De Flirt which is a nude shade with a subtle hint of brown.

This is Vincent Longo’s award winning Lipstain with SPF 15 which delicately tints the lips with a glossy coat of sheer color. The formula contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to soften and nourishes the lip tissue and has a hint of a vanilla scent.

This felt light weight whilst on which is ideal for the hot summer days which we are having.

My Verdict

This was my first Wantable Beauty Box and I am really impressed and delighted with the contents. A box containing full sized make-up products all chosen to suit my needs and likes.

There’s something very special about Wantable – They create unique customer profiles by asking customers a series of product and personality questions. They then use this data to introduce customers to assortments of products perfectly suited to their personal taste. If’s there’s a certain make up item you don’t like they simply won’t send it to you.

July’s box included 4 full sized products and I can confirm that the items I received was spot on in conjunction with the detailed beauty profile which I completed from the products to the colours I received and that in itself is impressive.

The box also contained information on all the items which were featured including their value and how to apply the products to achieve the best results.

The contents within this month’s box is worth £51.00 and the cost of the box including shipping works out to be around £30.00. Whilst the price of this box may appear to be a bit steep it’s a small price to pay to discover these great brands which are renowned in the US and are all full sized products. No silly sized samples in this box!

I loved every single product I received and my box definitely mirrored what I would of personally selected.

If you’re a make-up lover and want to discover good quality and high end American brands this is the box for you. This box definitely gives you a different experience compared to any other beauty box on the market in my opinion mainly because I know that my box each month will be tailored and I will never receive an eyeshadow or an orange lipstick!

As well as beauty boxes Wantable also do an intimates box and an accessories box.

Price of the Box is £10.00 Plus £2.95 P&P
Menu 2
No. of Products in the Box – 7
Total value of contents in the box £63.05
www.lovemebeauty.com

The July Love Me Beauty Box perfectly wrapped in pink has finally arrived and this month it’s brimmed to the top with all you could want from a subscription beauty box. This month’s box took longer than usual to arrive however it was certainly worth the wait.

The line up this month was mainly all things make-up featuring brands such as So Susan, OFRA Cosmetics and Lash Em. There was also a lifestyle product from Teashed and as a bonus the first 450 subscribers who picked their box also will receive an amazing full size product from Weleda.

“Love Me Beauty” is a Beauty subscription service like the other boxes however you get to choose the products you want from a choice of 3 menu’s each month. Each menu has a slightly different set of  items to complement the diverse needs of their subscribers.

This month I opted for Menu 2. To see what was available this month please click here.

My box included 6 full sized products and 1 sample sized product.

1.    Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick  – Full Size RRP £11.60

I’ve never tried this brand but have seen this making an appearance in some American beauty boxes. This is a nice creamy and smooth textured lipstick. I initially thought this was a lip gloss as it’s applicator was the same as you would find in gloss related products.

The shade is called Hollywood and is a bright pink colour which is quite vibrant. One sweep on the lips is all it takes to get the desired result as the pigmentation is great.

The lasting power is good however I found it quite drying after 10 minutes however nothing that a lip balm can’t solve!

2.    Ofra Pressed Eye Shadow in Bliss –  Full Size RRP £8.80

This pressed eyeshadow is from OFRA’s “Diamonds are Forever” palette collection. It has a great depth of colour which is a gold shimmery shade and subtle enough to wear during the day. This can also be applied with a wet brush for a more dramatic look in the evenings. It’s a stunning colour.

There’s also a little secret compartment under the eye shadow base – flip open and there’s a little mirror and room for a tiny applicator.

I’m not usually an eyeshadow fan but I’m looking forward to wearing this one.

3.    So Susan Dual Brow Powder Palette – Full Size RRP £11.95

Brow filling is part of my day to day make up regime and to date I have always used a brow pencil. I’ve never felt the need to try a powder mainly because it spells out messy for me however I am always willing to try new formulas.

The palette itself was robust and contained two powder shades. It also had a mirror inside and an application brush which was angled so you can get right underneath the brow line. I tried the darkest shade which was a medium/dark brown. Unfortunately it just wasn’t dark enough for my brows.

A good product but just wasn’t the right shade for me. The powder did take to the skin well and didn’t smudge.

4.   So Susan Flutter Mascara – Full Size RRP £14.95

Being a regular wearer of Mascara I always look forward to receiving these in my boxes as they all claim to give you longer lashes and intense volume.

This is new to the So Susan line and is an intense carbon black mascara formulated with hyaluronic spheres to help you achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible.

The brush is good and ensures each lash is separated however despite applying this several times to my lashes I didn’t really notice a significant difference in the appearance of my lashes. I really did give this a chance but it delivered nothing for me.

5. Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion – Full Size 200ml RRP £15.95

I was certainly happy to see this amazing full-size product in my box which was a nice surprise as only the first 450 subscribers to this month’s box will receive this. A lovely additional treat which I welcomed.

I love Weleda mainly because of their ethical values of having no nasties in their products. A consistent theme with Weleda is that their products are high quality and they smell so great. It really is nature in a bottle. This is for dry skin and contains skin-related essential fatty acids providing visible and lasting care for the skin which is formulated with vitamin-rich oil from organic sea buckthorn, mallow extract and shea butter. It protects skin from moisture loss and activates its self-regulating functions.

This smells quite fruity and uplifting. When appliedthis soaks straight into the skin without leaving a trace of greasiness and comes in a uniquely shaped award winning bottle which is an airless bag-in-bottle system with a pump dispenser.

A very generous sized product which I will enjoy using however the expiry date is very short lived – it expires at the end of August so I will need to start using this now to ensure I get the maximum use out of it.

6. Lashem Lash Enhancing Serum – Sample Size 2ml. Full Size 3.5ml RRP £40.00

This serum claims to give your lashes a helping hand to make an appearance and also nourishes and conditions. The fortifying formula continues to work long after application and takes your lashes to the next level. Results have found longer looking lashes in two weeks.

I’m quite cynical about these serums which promise longer lashes however I will definitely give this a trial run until the sample runs out to determine whether the claims above are true.

Although this may appear to be a tiny sample it’s really not as the full sized serum is only 3.5ml. If used sparingly once day you will certainly get the most out of this. It’s a good trial sized product.

7. The Teashed 4am Tea – Full Size Packet of 20 tea bags RRP £3.50

A very generous offering of tea this month from The Teashed. A whole pack consisting of 20 tea bags which are in a unique silky bag which enables you to see the tea leaves dancing around when popped into some hot water.

This is a white tea which is naturally low in caffeine which means you can drink this during the day and at night. It also helps you to sleep and is full of antioxidants.

I’m not a regular tea drinker however it’s always useful to keep these at home for guests. They will be talking about my posh tea for years to come!

My Verdict

A big improvement in my opinion for Love Me Beauty this month. I loved the selections on offer including the brands which were featured. The generous extra Weleda product was a nice touch too and finished the overall box quite nicely.

I was delighted to see that the line up this month was mainly all things make-up featuring brands such as So Susan, OFRA Cosmetics and Lash Em. There was also a lifestyle product from Teashed and as a bonus the first 450 subscribers who picked their box also will receive an amazing full size product from Weleda.

The box was brimmed to the top and included 6 full sized products and 1 sample sized product which is simply amazing.

The value of this month’s box is worth £63.05 which is incredibly good value for money.

Overall I’m pretty pleased with the contents. They definitely put on a good show this month.

I am hoping that Love Me Beauty have got their mojo back as they are definitely back on the right track. I hope they sustain this quality and variety within their boxes each month.

Memebox Oriental Medicine
Price of the Box is $29.99 including shipping approx £18.00
No of Products in the Box – 6 items
Total value of contents in the box – £50.00
http://us.memebox.com/memebox-global

The Memebox Oriental Medicine Box has safely made it all the way from Korea. This is an interesting themed box which is a favourite beauty regimen going back to ancient Korea. Oriental medicines were used to to revitalise and balance exhausted skin, giving a beautiful and enchanting glow. A box full of magical beauty products incorporating medicinal ingredients.

Memebox is a rapidly-growing, leading e-commerce beauty retailer born in Seoul, currently headquartered in San Francisco, California and provide Korean Beauty Boxes.

They offer a huge range of different beauty boxes which caters for everyone’s needs and likes and the good news is they ship to the UK and other parts of the world for only $6.99. These are not monthly subscription boxes and are available to buy as one off’s. They sell out very quickly so you do need to be supersonic however if you are already a Memebox customer an email gets sent to you to let you know as and when new boxes are released.

This box included 5 full sized products and 1 sample sized duo set and consisted of mainly skincare products.

1.   D’ran Wonder Serum – Full Size 30ml RRP £18.00

This serum is made from 20 different Korean medicinal herbs such as ginseng, black hoof, mushrooms, licorice, portulaca and ganoderma and delivers abundant nutrients and moisture deep into your skin to erase those years off your face for a revitalized, glowing complexion.

I am actually giggling to myself at the last sentence I typed.  if I was to erase any more years I would certainly look like a child. I have problems as it is getting into bars and clubs! Jokes aside the texture of this serum feels great on the skin and isn’t greasy at all. The serum itself is really light weight and did not feeling heavy at all.

Whilst this isn’t for my skin type it would certainly suit a mature type skin due to it’s tightening and anti wrinkle properties.

2.   Chun Ji Heang Hand Cream – Full Size 80ml RRP £10.00

I’ve not received a hand cream recently in any of my boxes so welcomed this good sized one which is 80ml and will last for ages.

This hand cream is made from 110 years old wild ginseng extracts, shea butter and olive oil and is extremely rich in nutrients and it’s highly moisturising properties delivers eliminates dry  and rough hands.

The formula is not greasy and pretty much absorbed into my skin straight away. It certainly felt moisturising and the scent is pleasant too. This could be my favourite new hand cream.

3.     Hanhui CC Cream – Full Size 50ml RRP £18.00

Well I’m intrigued either that or I am a bit behind the times. I’ve heard of BB creams but this is a cream which works to even out and cover up visible pores leaving your complexion flawless. Welcome to the CC cream!

The cream itself is infused with red ginseng extracts, cactus extracts and galactomyces fermented extracts to make your skin soft and shine with a natural glow.

This has the texture of a foundation however when applied is quite pearly looking. Once blended in this made my skin look radiant and gave me a wonderful dewy glow. Not too sure if this comes in different shades but this matched my skin tone perfectly.

4.    Donginbi Red Ginseng Aqua Oil and Aqua Pack Essence Duo Set  – Sample Size

Just casually browsing through the product card I come across this Duo set and oh my god both these products at 50ml retail for around £164!

Now I’m super interested! This is a premium brand only found in Korean beauty department stores.

These products are effectively renowned for their powerful medicinal formula that smooths and locks in moisture.

I’m not really too sure if this would be suitable for my combination/oily skin none the less the texture feels great on the skin.

5.    Purederm Korean Herb Masks  – Full Size x2 RRP £1.64 each

These cloth masks are becoming quite popular as I have seen a few brands doing these types of masks.

I received two different types of masks –  a hydrating herb mask and a brightening herb mask both for dry skin.

They are enriched with Korean organic herbs and contain a high content of Vitamin E and Collagen to maintain the moisture/oil balance in your skin. For best results these are left on for 15-20 minutes.

I do wish these were for my skin type as I would of loved to have tried these out.

My Verdict

My second Memebox and I’m impressed with everything from their packaging to the contents in the box!  A box full of medicinal skincare products for smooth, moisturising and glowing complexions infused with wonderful ingredients.

You will also notice that the key ingredient used in these products is Ginseng. Ginseng has great benefits for anti-ageing and collagen production. It also helps to regenerate, tone, and brighten the skin.

This box included 5 full sized products and 1 sample sized duo set and consisted of mainly skincare products.

Whilst some of the items wasn’t for my skin type this would certainly suit those who have dry skin as the moisturising properties contained within these products are simply amazing.

The box came well packaged in a robust padded envelope and I can confirm that no custom charges were incurred.

What makes Memebox very different is the variety and choice of beauty boxes which they offer their customers as a one off purchase. They release a huge amount of boxes throughout the year and will simply leave you spoilt for choice. The don’t release any spoilers prior to shipping so it’s a complete surprise when you receive it.

The information about the products and how to apply them is in English on a card enclosed inside of the box so you certainly wont be lost in translation.

This box has enabled me to discover Korean beauty products which are not available here in the UK which does make the reviewing process more interesting.

The contents within this box is worth £50.00 and the cost of the box including shipping works out to be around £18.00. It’s a small price to pay to discover these hidden gems.

I’m already on the Memebox band wagon and have purchased several boxes in the past few weeks!

Glossybox Review – July 2014

Price of the Box is £10.00 Plus £3.25 P&P
No. of Products in the Box – 5 items
Total value of contents in the box is £41.69
www.glossybox.co.uk

The July 2014 Glossybox perfectly designed and wrapped has arrived and I think most subscribers were eagerly waiting to find out what goodies were in store this month especially when Glossybox revealed their Stars and Stripes special edition box.

This month Glossybox has gone stateside with a special edition Stars and Stripes Box, showcasing exciting beauty brands born in the USA and have brought together the best transatlantic beauty discoveries to share with their subscribers.

A box all things make-up this month and definitely one I was looking forward to. Yay to no skincare or body products. I have far too many collecting dust at the moment.

Glossybox is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample sized product.

To see the July Glossybox spoiler and the products featured please click here

1.   Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick  – Full Size RRP £20.00

There’s a guaranteed Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick for all subscribers this month available in three summer shades which come in a red, orange or pink shade.

I was secretly hoping for the red or the pink as orange just isn’t my colour. Typically I received the orange shade in Manderina.

I’m quite pale and unfortunately this does look way too bright for my complexion to wear during the day. I think if I got a tan this would be perfect for the Summer as it really would compliment the look.

2.     Absolute New York Perfecting Eyeshadow Primer – Full Size 7.9g  RRP £3.00

This is an oil-free ultra creamy formula which evens skin tone around the eye area and keeps eyeshadow crease-free and colour true for a lasting look.

It appears that this isn’t retailed in the UK which does make it even more special.

I’m not a fan of eye shadows however this can be used under the eye area too for brightening which is certainly up my street. I guess this can also be applied on the eye lid to keep your top liner in place without it smudging throughout the day.

3.     Colour Club Nail Varnish – Full Size RRP £5.00

A nail varnish brand which I have been meaning to try as I’ve heard great things. It’s made in New York and is non toxic and contains cruelty free ingredients.

The shade which I received is called Glossy Seal and is a cross between  a blue and teal like colour. I really can’t pin point the exact tone. This shade has been especially formulated for this month’s Glossybox which kind of makes you feel special as no one other than Glossybox subscribers will have this shade.

This is quite a matte and dull shade and not a colour which I would usually go for however I am liking this it’s certainly different.

4.    Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 Mascara –  Sample Size 4ml. Full Size 7ml RRP £19.50

I’ve never tried this US brand and this is the one product I’m sure you will agree is worth getting excited over. The mascara tube is quite unusual and the pattern is a snake skin effect.
This mascara hero has lengthening, curling, volumising and conditioning properties for healthy longer lashes.
I love anything which promises longer fuller lashes so did this live up to the above expectations? It certainly did! I loved the texture of the brush which ensured that each lash was separated without clumping the lashes with product build up. It also did a good job in lengthening too.
This is also a great sample sized product which is worth around £11.00.
5.   Carmex Lip Balm – Full Size 7.9g RRP £2.69

A well known product and a brand which is easily available on the high street. I didn’t even know Carmex was born in the US.

This is the original Carmex lip balm which soothes dry, chapped lips and contains menthol, camphor and beeswax.

A nice edition to the box.

My Verdict

I’m really liking this month’s GlossyBox  – what’s not to like it’s a box full of make-up in a vibrant American themed designed box. The products included also complimented the theme very well.  I certainly was happy to see no skincare or body products this month.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample sized product which is pretty amazing. There was a guaranteed Bella Pierre Lipstick in this month’s Glossybox for all subscribers which is great and some subscribers also received the exclusive nail varnish also. A good variety of make up products this month.

I am liking this new step in direction for Glossybox and fingers crossed they continue to work on delivering these standard of boxes. One of my bug bears with Glossybox is everyone’s boxes vary so much in the products they receive including the overall value of the box. I think a lot of subscribers were hoping for the Tarte Mascara and I’m pleased that I’ve seen a fair amount of boxes with these in.

Glossybox do include some full sized products which bumps up the value of the box so it’s a great price to pay to discover and trial products from well known and new brands.  I will be making use of 4 out of 5 the products featured in this  box with the exception of the lipstick as I just don’t have the right complexion tone to pull this off at the moment.

The contents within this month’s box is worth an amazing £41.69 which is great value for money and has also given me a good taster of some American brands which I’ve not had the opportunity to try before.

I do love coming home to Glossybox for the surprise aspect it’s like having a birthday present to unwrap every month!

Cowshed products are quintessentially British and all Made in England. Inspired by nature, Cowshed’s range of honest, natural and therapeutic products, use only the best organic and wildcrafted plant extracts and the highest quality essential oils.

This great mix of samples really does give you a feel for the brand and their products. I can’t wait to try all these samples I’m sure there’s a fitting cow for each day of the week! Today may be a Knackered Cow one!

2.   John Masters Organics Shampoo and Conditioner –  Sample Sizes 30ml each. Full Size 237ml RRP £16.00

The John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo combines organic essential oils with organic herbal extracts to gently cleanse and keep’s hair in perfect balance. This is gentle enough to use as an everyday shampoo and smells great too. This shampoo has also been voted best haircare product in the ethical living awards in 2010.

I also received a detangler sample in citrus and neroli which is lightweight and can be used as an leave in conditioner. During the summer my hair tends to get very dry not to mention the damage of the heat styling tools i use on a daily basis! This should give my hair the extra TLC it needs.

If you want to try this brand they do a a great little sampler set for £9.99 which includes the Lavender Rosemary Shampoo, the Citrus & Neroli Detangler, the Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash and the Blood Orange and Vanilla Body Milk. Click here for more information.

3.   MyChelle Fabulous Eye Cream – Full Size 15ml RRP £19.00

I’m not familiar with this brand however they have a full skincare collection to target specific skin types and skin concerns using the most potent natural ingredients from around the world.

This formula nourishes the delicate eye area while minimizing the look of fine lines. Revolutionary Edelweiss Plant Stem Cells inhibit collagen breakdown and are clinically proven to reduce wrinkle depth by 15% after only twenty days of use. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture within the skin, smoothing and firming the eye area.

I can’t say that I have any fine lines or wrinkles as of yet so this probably won’t benefit me or get any usage however it’s a full-sized product and I’m sure someone will happily take this off my hands.

4. Nourish Golden Glow Illuminating Face Shimmer – Sample Size 2ml. Full Size 30ml RRP £16.00

Another brand which I have not tried. This face shimmer which comes in a cream texture contains golden mineral powders to lift and define your complexion and active Tonka bean extract that emits light to give the skin a vibrant, natural, healthy glow, as well as reducing the appearance of uneven skin tone and age spots.

I applied a little on my face and you can see the benefits straight away. The shimmer is subtle and definitely gives you more of a radiant look. I mixed a little with my moisturiser this morning and this can also be mixed in with your foundation. This has great properties for using as a highlighter also.

My Verdict

This month’s Love Lula Beauty Box has certainly brought a smile to my face. It’ss packed with so many wonderful goodies from popular brands which have no nasties in them. The box also contained a fun factor this month with the Cowshed samples.

This month’s box included 1 full sized product and 10 sample sized products from the brands Cowshed, Nourish, MyChelle and John Masters Organics . The box consisted of hair, skincare and body products this month.

A good mix of brands and products to try this month and they were very generous with the Cowshed samples. There is a sample to fit each day of the week!

This is in the same price range as the other beauty  boxes and you are getting a completely different experience compared to the others boxes in relation to the products.

Love Lula also gave a 20% off promotional code to use on their website on any of the brands which were featured in this month’s box which is valid throughout July which is a nice bonus.

This month’s box was worth around £25.00+ beating the cost of the box.

If you love organic and natural products this is definitely the box for you. I have discovered some wonderful brands thanks to Love Lula.

1.  Gilchrist & Soames English Spa Sea Kelp Extract Mineral Bath  – Sample Size 40ml.

I’m a fan of this brand having received a shower gel previously from Birchbox. This is a foamy gel which contains marine nutrient sea kelp to invigorate the skin and is used when running a bath. I’ve always found their products like the ones you would find in a SPA mainly because of the scent and luxurious feel. This smells quite refreshing and soothing. I can’t wait to try this.

2. Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo  – Sample Size 18ml. Full Size 190ml RRP £8.95

This is a natural organic fortifying Shampoo which will gently cleanse hair, while maintain your natural shine. The millet works to protect hair from becoming dry while macadamia nut oil will keep it naturally supple and includes extracts of grapefruit and peppermint which smells lovely.

This is for normal hair. My hair is quite dry and certainly not normal however they also do a range for dry hair too which I will look into as I love Weleda’s concept.

3. Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream – Sample Size 7ml. Full Size 15ml RRP £20.00

I’m a Balance Me virgin and have never tried any of their products so thanks to Birchbox I am no longer a stranger to this brand.

This eye cream is a three in one multi-tasking formula which softens, smooths and brightens thanks to its unique blend of Roman chamomile, lemon, cucumber oil, witch hazel, anti-oxidant spruce knot, virgin coconut, rosehip oil and carrot oil. This couldn’t of come at a better time and you will share my view if like me you’re a hayfever sufferer . My eyes really have a hard time this time of the year not forgetting the toll of late nights and the effect it has on your eyes in the morning. This cream can be used in the morning and evening.

Upon application this applied well and a little does go a long way. I lightly patted this around my eye area and it felt refreshing. I am hoping that continual use of this product will improve the area under my eyes.

4.   Laqa & Co Sheer Lip Lube Pencil   – Sample Size.  Full Size £14.00

I purchased the duo Laqa & Co Lip pencils from the Birchbox shop a couple of weeks ago and found that they were more of a tinted lip balm then a lipstick. I received the shade Bee’s Knee’s which is a nice light coral toned colour. This applied quite sheer and subtle giving a gloss finish. The moisturising properties are great and has a pepermint scent.

5.  Whish Three Wishes Lavender Body Butter – Sample Size 22ml.

New brand alert and there’s a great story behind this brand. A husband who researched his way to bring you Whish which is an American brand. This body cream has a unique triple antioxidant based formula which moisturises, firms and purifies. This fully loaded lotion both softens and soothes the skin while also helping to replenish and firm and is lavender scented. They also do a 6 other scents in this lotion. The scent is lovely and the cream is really moisturising and not greasy when applied. I think I have just found my next body cream! One for the wishlist.

6. Ultradex Fresh Breath Oral Spray – Lifestyle Extra – Full Size RRP £3.65

I think you will all agree that this month’s lifestyle extra is quite unusual compared to others received! None the less this spray will keep your breath minty and fresh and comes in a great handbag size. This has 130 spray uses which is great.

My Verdict

It was going to be tough to compete with last month’s box however Birchbox have delivered some great key essentials to kick start summer. I love the theme and the products which have been incorporated. These products are ideal for packing in your hand lugguage when going abroad as they are all travel sized and will be allowed to go through security at the airport.

This month’s box shout’s out Summer and Travel and contains some great travel sized products for use at home or away .  The box consisted of  body, skincare, make up  and hair products this month. A good variety of products and contained well known and new brands.

I’ve  fallen in love with the Whish Body lotion and will be eagerly awaiting for Birchbox to stock this in their online shop!

A great little box to kick start your Summer whether you’re at home or away.
