It’s a new month which means it’s time to unveil Look Fantastic’s latest curation ‘Global Glamour’ and for August they’re taking us on a little journey around the world and have put a host of beauty brands in the spotlight from various countries which in turn ties in very well with the overall theme and all the products have been handpicked with summer in mind! Touching on all areas of beauty, it’s another loveable edition and as always includes a generous mixture of full sizes and samples not forgetting the latest copy of Elle Magazine which is such a lovely bonus.

The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.

This month’s box showcases products from Mane n Tail, Korres, Lottie London, Gatineau, Lord & Berry and Skin79.

Here’s what I received inside my August Box:

Up first and on the hair care front is a Shampoo and Conditioner Duo (Travel size 60ml each) from a Mane n Tail, a US brand I’ve seen a lot of on social media but never tried myself so thank you Look Fantastic! Initially developed for horses to keep their manes and tails shiny and soft, the formula is deemed also suitable for humans and is even a favourite with celebrities! The original formula is fortified with effective cleansing agents and forms a rich lather upon contact with water, helping to eliminate impurities without stripping the hair’s natural oils. It also promises to improve manageability and tame unruly strands, whilst restoring body and shine to leave hair smooth, calm and healthy-looking.

Moving onto Greece, we have the Korres Basil Lemon Body Milk (Travel size). I’ve tried quite a few products from Korres and one thing for sure their shower gels and body lotions smell absolutely amazing and the Basil Lemon Body Milk is no exception. This moisturising body milk is enriched with vitamins and trace elements as well as essential skin energy boosting agents with a combination of skin loving ingredients such as Almond oil, active Aloe, provitamin B5 and Shea butter. The body milk is light, absorbs very quicky without leaving any greasiness on the skin and the refreshing zesty scent is packed with a lot of pick me up power making it perfect for the mornings.

The French definitely know a thing or two about skin care and up next is the Gatineau Gentle Silk Cleanser (Travel size 50ml), a soothing formula that carefully lifts and removes make up and impurities from your skin, leaving your complexion feeling soft, comfortable and thoroughly cleaned and is ideal for even the most sensitive skin and won’t upset your skin’s natural pH balance either.

On the make-up front and hailing all the way from Korea is another new discovery from Skin79 in the form of their BB Super Plus Beblesh Balm SPF 30 PA++ (Sample size). Harnessing the powers of vitamin-rich Damask Rose Flower Water and Acerola Extract, the fast-absorbing, fresh-textured blemish balm combats dullness and uneven skin tone, whilst absorbing excess oil and defending against the sun’s damaging UV rays. Its revolutionary Vita Brightening Complex restores a clarified, rejuvenated and refined complexion. I’ve read great reviews for this BB cream and can’t wait to try it out.

Up next and the only dud for me inside this month’s box due to the shade is the Lord & Berry Magic Brow Pencil, it’s too light for me but I do own the darker version and use it occasionally when my ABH one runs out! The brow pencil features three highly pigmented colours that enhance and define the natural shape of your brows.

Lastly and born in the UK is the Lottie London Cherry Pie Balm Ball (Full size RRP £5.00), an adorable and delicious scented lip balm with an unique egg-shaped applicator. It’s also paraben-free, vegan friendly and gluten-free.

My Verdict

This month’s Look Fantastic ‘Global Glamour’ did exactly what it intended to do and brought a host of popular and little known brands in the spotlight from all over the world! Touching on all areas of beauty from skin and body, hair and make-up and sticking to the theme throughout, their August edition was a firm favourite of mine as not only did it include quite a few new discoveries but there was a lot to delve into this month – 7 products to be precise not including the magazine which is pretty amazing when you take into account the price of the monthly subscription. All of the products featured were good sized this month and although there was only one full size I think a lot of us forget the main purpose of these boxes – their sole purpose is sampling so if you do get a full size then consider it as a bonus! The only thing I would say is the brands featured do get repeated quite a lot not as much as they use to but I’d love for Look Fantastic to swap these out for some newbies – I mean you only need to look at how many brands they stock to get a rough idea of how huge they are, surely we can get in on some of that action (just saying!).

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the perfect destination to try a range of beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for with subscriptions starting from £13.00 it’s such a guilt-free option to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
