Total value of contents in the box is £36.10

The perfectly wrapped August 2014 Glossybox has arrived and this month they celebrate their 3rd anniversary in style including a subtle make over of their iconic pink box. I was particularly looking forward to this month’s box as celebratory boxes usually mean a box full of treats and in my opinion I wasn’t wrong!

As well as the revamp of the box and the intricate detail, the product card has also had a make over and now comes in the form of a foldable insert which is more informative and easy on the eye.

This month’s box covers all aspects of beauty and features a great line up of brands including Kryolan, Comfort Zone, Figs & Rouge, Philip Kingsley, Yves Rocher and Lalique.

Glossybox is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

This month’s box included 3 full sized products and 3 sample sized products. A total of 6 products this month.

To see the August Glossybox spoiler and the products featured please click here

1.   Philip Kingsley Elasticizer  – Sample Size 40ml. Full Size 250ml RRP £38.00

There’s a guaranteed Elasticizer in every Glossybox this month and a product which I’ve been keen to try for quite a while due to it’s raving reviews.

This pre-shampoo treatment was originally created specifically for the beauty Audrey Hepburn and delivers unrivalled elasticity, manageability, bounce ans shine without weighing down or coating the hair.

I’ve never used a pre-shampoo treatment where the hair needs to be wet before applying. I look forward to trying this out.

2.     Yves Rocher Nail Polish – Full Size 3ml  RRP £3.60

This must be the tiniest nail polish I’ve ever owned at 3ml and it’s a birthday bonus item this month.

The shade is a pretty pink which goes hand in hand with the coordination of their colour theme.

Being a fan of all things pink I welcomed this nail polish and the colour is adorably pretty.

3.     Kryolan Highlighter  – Full Size 4.5g RRP £12.50

I was particularly looking forward to trying out this highlighter by Kryolan who are known for their professional make up line used by make up artists and celebrities.  This was imprinted with the Glossybox logo and came in the shade Cashmere.

The shade Cashmere is sold on Kryolan’s website and is a versatile, lightweight cream with a gloss finish. It gives cheekbones, lips, and other parts of the skin a beautiful velvety shine.

I love the colour which looks really natural and accentuates specific area’s when applied. The shade is really diverse making it suitable for all complexions.

4.   Figs and Rouge Mini Hand Cream –  Sample Size 20ml. Full Size 80ml RRP £6.95

I do love a good hand cream and owning many types I was pleased to see the inclusion of Figs and Rouge which is a brand I’ve not tried before.

I received the hand cream in Mango and Mandarin in a vibrant coloured tube.

The tropical fragrance is uplifting and not too overpowering. You can really pick up the fruity tones of the Mango and Mandarin . This non greasy formula which is rich in texture sinks straight into the skin giving a nourishing feel and is enriched with shea butter, natural antioxidants and algea extract.

Whilst this may be a sample it’s very good sized at 20ml.

5.   Comfort Zone Essentials Cleansing Milk – Full Size 200ml RRP £20.00
This brand is completely new to me and their range appears to fall within spa type products.

The comfort zone brand was conceived and launched in 1996 as the skincare division of The Davines Group, which was founded in Parma, Italy, in 1983 by the Bollati family. What began as a research laboratory for the development of high-quality, highly effective products has grown into an internationally successful professional spa brand with a diverse range of product and treatment offerings.

This is a creamy, revitalizing, cleansing milk for daily use and is suitable for all skin conditions.

It removes make-up and impurities, respecting the skin’s balance and bringing back the complexion’s natural brightness.
It’s gentle formula feels very refreshing on the skin and applies onto the skin like a dream. I’m not a fan of overpowering fragranced facial products and was delighted that this had a delicate and subtle scent. Most importantly this cleanser is suitable for all skin conditions which is great for all subscribers who receive this.

This product is definitely the main highlight within this month’s box and comes in an amazing size of 200ml.

6.  L’amour Lalique Perfume Vial – Sample Size. Full Size 50ml RRP £67.00
I love discovering new scents and most of the perfumes I have bought recently are thanks to the little samples within the beauty boxes I receive.
I am a fan of floral scents and this is a soft sensual fragrance which has delicate notes of rosebuds laced with fresh bergamot. I love the subtle scent of this perfume making it perfect for wearing during the day.
 My Verdict

I’m impressed with the celebratory Glossybox this month. It covers all aspects of beauty and most importantly all of the products are very usable. I’ve made some great discoveries this month which has given me the opportunity to try out some new brands which were not familiar to me.

This month see’s a change in the design of their box which is now more square and chic in appearance. The texture is now matte instead of the usual glossy box. I much prefer this re-design and I love the intricate detail from their wrapping to their 3rd anniversary sticker!

This month’s box included 3 full sized products and 3 sample sized products totaling 6 products. The contents within this month’s box is worth £36.10 and all subscribers will receive a minimum value of £33.00.

Glossybox do include some full sized products which bumps up the value of the box so it’s a great price to pay to discover and trial products from well known and new brands.  I will be making use of all of the products featured in this month’s box.

A good effort by Glossybox this month from the intricate detail of the box to the contents enclosed.

I do love coming home to Glossybox for the surprise aspect it’s like having a birthday present to unwrap every month!

Price of the Box is £10.00 Plus £3.25 P&P
No. of Products in the Box – 5 items
Total value of contents in the box is £41.69
www.glossybox.co.uk

The July 2014 Glossybox perfectly designed and wrapped has arrived and I think most subscribers were eagerly waiting to find out what goodies were in store this month especially when Glossybox revealed their Stars and Stripes special edition box.

This month Glossybox has gone stateside with a special edition Stars and Stripes Box, showcasing exciting beauty brands born in the USA and have brought together the best transatlantic beauty discoveries to share with their subscribers.

A box all things make-up this month and definitely one I was looking forward to. Yay to no skincare or body products. I have far too many collecting dust at the moment.

Glossybox is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample sized product.

To see the July Glossybox spoiler and the products featured please click here

1.   Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick  – Full Size RRP £20.00

There’s a guaranteed Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick for all subscribers this month available in three summer shades which come in a red, orange or pink shade.

I was secretly hoping for the red or the pink as orange just isn’t my colour. Typically I received the orange shade in Manderina.

I’m quite pale and unfortunately this does look way too bright for my complexion to wear during the day. I think if I got a tan this would be perfect for the Summer as it really would compliment the look.

2.     Absolute New York Perfecting Eyeshadow Primer – Full Size 7.9g  RRP £3.00

This is an oil-free ultra creamy formula which evens skin tone around the eye area and keeps eyeshadow crease-free and colour true for a lasting look.

It appears that this isn’t retailed in the UK which does make it even more special.

I’m not a fan of eye shadows however this can be used under the eye area too for brightening which is certainly up my street. I guess this can also be applied on the eye lid to keep your top liner in place without it smudging throughout the day.

3.     Colour Club Nail Varnish – Full Size RRP £5.00

A nail varnish brand which I have been meaning to try as I’ve heard great things. It’s made in New York and is non toxic and contains cruelty free ingredients.

The shade which I received is called Glossy Seal and is a cross between  a blue and teal like colour. I really can’t pin point the exact tone. This shade has been especially formulated for this month’s Glossybox which kind of makes you feel special as no one other than Glossybox subscribers will have this shade.

This is quite a matte and dull shade and not a colour which I would usually go for however I am liking this it’s certainly different.

4.    Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 Mascara –  Sample Size 4ml. Full Size 7ml RRP £19.50

I’ve never tried this US brand and this is the one product I’m sure you will agree is worth getting excited over. The mascara tube is quite unusual and the pattern is a snake skin effect.
This mascara hero has lengthening, curling, volumising and conditioning properties for healthy longer lashes.
I love anything which promises longer fuller lashes so did this live up to the above expectations? It certainly did! I loved the texture of the brush which ensured that each lash was separated without clumping the lashes with product build up. It also did a good job in lengthening too.
This is also a great sample sized product which is worth around £11.00.
5.   Carmex Lip Balm – Full Size 7.9g RRP £2.69

A well known product and a brand which is easily available on the high street. I didn’t even know Carmex was born in the US.

This is the original Carmex lip balm which soothes dry, chapped lips and contains menthol, camphor and beeswax.

A nice edition to the box.

My Verdict

I’m really liking this month’s GlossyBox  – what’s not to like it’s a box full of make-up in a vibrant American themed designed box. The products included also complimented the theme very well.  I certainly was happy to see no skincare or body products this month.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample sized product which is pretty amazing. There was a guaranteed Bella Pierre Lipstick in this month’s Glossybox for all subscribers which is great and some subscribers also received the exclusive nail varnish also. A good variety of make up products this month.

I am liking this new step in direction for Glossybox and fingers crossed they continue to work on delivering these standard of boxes. One of my bug bears with Glossybox is everyone’s boxes vary so much in the products they receive including the overall value of the box. I think a lot of subscribers were hoping for the Tarte Mascara and I’m pleased that I’ve seen a fair amount of boxes with these in.

Glossybox do include some full sized products which bumps up the value of the box so it’s a great price to pay to discover and trial products from well known and new brands.  I will be making use of 4 out of 5 the products featured in this  box with the exception of the lipstick as I just don’t have the right complexion tone to pull this off at the moment.

The contents within this month’s box is worth an amazing £41.69 which is great value for money and has also given me a good taster of some American brands which I’ve not had the opportunity to try before.

I do love coming home to Glossybox for the surprise aspect it’s like having a birthday present to unwrap every month!

GlossyBox Review – June 2014

image

Price of the Box is £10.00 Plus £3.25 P&P
No. of Products in the Box – 5 items
Total value of contents in the box is £48.71
www.glossybox.co.uk

The June 2014 GlossyBox has arrived and I think most subscribers were eagerly waiting to find out what goodies were in store this month.  GlossyBox released a couple of cheeky spoilers before dispatch day and promised that 3 out of the 5 products in the box will be full sized with a minimum value of £45.00

This month GlossyBox are embracing the great British summer. They have curated their June Box to help you update your summer beauty routine in one easy step.

“GlossyBox” is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample  sized set . A good mix of products this month.

Not all subscribers got the same as me as the products do vary. To see what was on offer please click here

1.     Teez Beautiful Eyes Flat Stiff Brush  – Full Size RRP 19 £15.21

This is probably the first item in the box which stood out straight away. It’s colourful packaging is so vibrant and pretty.

I have used Teeez products before and do like their make up range . This brush has quite a nice texture to it and whilst I do not use eye shadow it can also be used to apply eye cream or concealer.

The handle also has a vibrant design – you will never lose it within your make up brushes!

2.     Nail Girls 3 in 1 Base/Top Coat and Strengthener – Full Size RRP £13.50

I received a nail varnish from Nail Girls in a previous box last month so welcomed this 3 in 1 clear varnish which is multi purpose. This has a lovely shine and has just saved me from buying a new top coat!

The brand has been set up by two sisters. Their nail polish is chemical-free, which is great for mothers who are breastfeeding and women who are pregnant. Nailgirls are also British company.

3.     So Susan Concealer Quad – Full Size RRP £17.00

So Susan  launched  its new Concealer Quad in May this year. The brand uses wrinkle relief technology to offer anti-ageing qualities in its cosmetics. The new Concealer Quad contains four shades to cover imperfections and customisable colours to match all skin tones. It can be used to cover dark shades, blemishes and minor imperfections and is formulated with virgin Marula oil.

I’ve never tried this brand but I love the packaging it’s so girly and chic.

The pigmentation of this product isn’t the best however a good result can be achieved by building up the colour. The concealer isn’t so heavy either and therefore a great alternative for warmer climates.  I love that this product is diverse.

The texture of this product is quite dry however I have oily skin so wasn’t that much of an issue for me.

4.    Roger & Gallet Replenishing Body Lotion, Shower Cream and Perfume Vial in Fleur de Figuier –  Sample Sized

I have never heard of this brand but it sounds absolutely amazing and judging by the scent its divine. I’m already won over!

Here’s a history lesson for you all… The great adventure of Roger & Gallet started in 1695. Jean-Paul Feminis, who came from Italy and settled in Cologne, claimed to have been given the secret of a unique formula for water with amazing healing properties known as Aqua Mirabilis (Eau Admirable). In 1806, Jean-Marie Farina, the heir to the formula for Eau de Cologne, opened a perfumery business in rue Saint-Honore, Paris. In 1862 the heirs to Maison Farina, Armand Roger and Charles Gallet, formed a partnership which sealed the company’s future. Research and creativity were their keywords. They were to modernize the perfumery universe with shapes and volumes, with olfactive innovations and creation of perfumes.

The scent of these products has floral and sweet tones which is definitely my kind of scent. A great sample which I’m happy to have been introduced to.

5.  Schwarzkopt got2b Rise n Shine SouffleFull Size 100ml RRP £3.00

Schwarzkopf got2b Rise ‘n Shine souffle gives your hair textured volume and silky shine and you apply this to dry hair. For more of a volume boost this can be applied to the roots too.

I love that this looks like a souffle visually it smells great too.

I’ve not tried this yet but I like the fact that this is a weightless product.

My Verdict

I’m quite impressed with my GlossyBox this month its a big improvement compared to the last couple of months. The Glossy magazine was also a good read as per usual.

This month’s box included 4 full sized products and 1 sample  sized set which is pretty amazing. The box mainly consisted of  Body, make up, hair and nail products this month. Definitely a good mix of products.  I was hoping for the perfume but none the less GlossyBox have definitely delivered this month. I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

The contents within this month’s box is worth an amazing £48.71 which is great value for money.  Unfortunately I didn’t receive my product card this month so have researched the RRP prices myself.

There’s only one product this month that I wont make use out of so this month was a great box for me.

GlossyBox can be hit and miss sometimes and may not cater for everyone’s likes and needs each month however this is the risk when you cannot choose your own products. However I also understand that it’s hard to please everyone.  I do love coming home to my GlossyBox for the surprise aspect it’s like having a birthday present to unwrap every month!

I hope this is a new step in direction for GlossyBox and fingers crossed they continue to deliver these standard of boxes. I know most subscribers from my social media networks were very happy with their boxes this month.

Subscribers don’t forget to update your beauty profiles if any of your preferences have changed.
