The December You Beauty Discovery ‘Winter Wonders’ edition has arrived and whilst I’m delighted with my picks I can’t help but feel that the shortlist was a little underwhelming for December but that being said the majority has now sold out! When it comes to this box in particular, the choices, the affordability and the brands featured makes it unbeatable and is the ideal choice for those who are just dipping their toes into the beauty subscription market!
You Beauty Discovery is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get choose two products of your choice from both well-known and emerging brands and they also throw in 2-3 bonus samples. Each month you’ll find a shortlist that’s been centered around a theme.
1. Candle De La Crème Ylang Ylang & Cedarwood Spa Massage Candle – RRP £6.95
If there’s ever a time of year more suited for a scented candle, it’s now! I’m a self-confessed candle junkie especially in winter so this Spa Massage Candle by Candle De La Crème grabbed my attention straight away!
With sensual delights of Ylang Ylang and Cedarwood, enrobed with droplets of vanilla essence and slithers of orange peel, this warm and earthy pleasure is designed to entice and stimulate the senses.
2. philosophy renewed hope in a jar eye cream – Sample Size 3ml.
With all those late nights coming up, a good eye cream is always handy to have on standby to eradicate the obvious tell-tale signs so with this in mind I decided to go for the philosophy renewed hope in a jar eye cream, a brand I’ve not tried much from.
renewed hope in a jar eye is specially formulated for the delicate skin around your eyes and the multiple concerns affecting it. Featuring clinically-proven, non-stop skin renewal technology that continuously hydrates, brightens dark circles, reduces puffiness and smoothes the look of fine lines.
The cream has a light yet almost balmy feel which is perfect for all night hydration and I can definitely say that this product does help in regards to reducing puffiness and keeping the delicate skin hydrated. The texture also makes it perfect for under makeup as well.
3. Extra samples inside the box:
As always, You Beauty Discovery have included some extra bonus treats but I was a little sad they didn’t include any chocolate inside their December edition! This month’s box features a sample of the Miracle Effect Priming Serum (1ml sachet) from Studio |10 and a sample vial of Narciso Eau De Toilette from Narciso Rodriguez.
My Verdict
Although this month’s shortlist didn’t excite me as much compared to previous months, I’m really delighted with my picks and loved the addition of the candle making a nice change to the lotions and potions we’re use to! I’m really impressed with the eye cream and hoping it works wonders over the festive period. If you do happen to fall in love with something there’s a few discount codes from the brands featured this month.
Coming in at only £6.95, not only is it affordable but it also gives subscribers a great opportunity to sample products from well-known, loved and emerging beauty brands. One of the aspects I love about this box is that I have full control of what’s inside as well as receiving some additional bonus samples too. If you’re new to the beauty box concept then this is definitely a great purse friendly box to start off with.
