When it comes to that all important ‘me time”, I’m all about the simple, enjoyable rituals in life from relaxing showers complete with yummy smelling shower gels, catching up on my favourite tv shows to a peaceful night time routine filled with a rose mist and a facial oil but that’s about as relaxing as it gets for me on a week day anyway…cue the *March Birchbox! This month’s Mindfulness edition is all about taking some time out for our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing and incorporating even just a few small acts of self care can have a huge impact so if you want a little quick pick-me-up this month’s edit will definitely help you out! With every March press box, Birchbox have also donated to the charity MIND on our behalf which is so lovely of them and is just one of the reasons why this month’s box is a firm favourite of mine plus how gorgeous is the box design.

Without further ado here’s what I received inside my March Birchbox (Contents may vary. Please see the March spoiler post to see what you may receive).

You can always rely on Birchbox to hook us up with the newest launches from Benefit and this month all subscribers will receive a sample of the BADgal BANG! Volumising Mascara (Travel size), a 36 hour full-blast volumizing mascara that promises to create massive volume without weighing down lashes. The gravity-defying formula contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials derived from space technology and layers easily for bigger & badder impact. It’s also smudge-proof and water-resistant. I’ve read mixed reviews about this mascara but I’m really excited to give it a go.

Up next I received the BLAQ Hydrogel Eye Masks (x1 worth £4.40) and although I was secretly hoping for the face mask I’m not too sad as I’ll definitely get use out of these and am rather intrigued by the activated charcoal! The jelly-like masks help to relieve puffy eyes and dark circles and is infused with the hero ingredient charcoal which helps draw out impurities and detoxify the skin.

Okay so I was a little sad that the Blaq Face Mask didn’t make it’s way inside my box but the addition of the Glamglow SuperMud Clearing Mask (Sample size 15g) has definitely short-lived that disappointment! This clearing treatment has been created to ‘target, prevent, and heal problem skin and was clinically developed by GLAMGLOW® dermatological chemists to help fight all common skin concerns including breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair. It promises to visibly draw out dirt  and congestion thanks to the ctivated-X Charcoal while a proprietary six-acid blend dramatically brightens and softens skin. The full sizes are crazy expensive for what you get and mine ran out a month ago so I’m thrilled to give this one a go and hoping it lasts for a few uses!

Finally we have a body scrub that isn’t related to coffee beans! The Nuxe Reve de Miel Body Scrub (Travel size 30ml) not only smells lovely but it’s a gel formula which is what I usually prefer when it comes to body scrubs. Described as a nourishing, 2-in-1 body polish infused with Sugar Crystals it softens and renews the appearance of skin with Honey and precious Sunflower, Argan and Borage Oils to gently slough away dead skin cells whilst smoothing and nurturing skin.

Last out of the box we have the Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray (Travel Size 37ml), not something I can see myself using but this two-in-one spray adds texture and shine to create a piecey, tousled look minus the dryness. It’s packed with wheat protein, vitamin B, amber extract and pumps up each hair shaft and adds wavy texture. Meanwhile, a mix of moisturisers, including safflower seed oil and marigold extract, heals dry ends, and galanga root extracts contribute a natural dose of UV protection.

My Verdict

The March Mindfulness Edition really had all from the pretty design, the theme right through to the contents and it’s one that ranks high when it comes to my favourite curations from them. Although this month’s Birchbox didn’t have anything particularly spring-y in it apart from the body scrub, it definitely came with quite a few solid beauty staples that I’m happy to add to my collection and out of the five items theres four very usable products for me plus the samples were good sized all round. I was initially disappointed that the BLAQ mask didn’t make the cut inside my box but that was very short-lived thanks to the Glamglow product which also means this cult classic brand is now available in their shop – the beauty of Birchbox is you not only discover up-and-coming brands but sometimes you also get to try the huge power players too.
