“Love Me Beauty” is a Beauty subscription service like the other boxes however you get to choose the products you want from a choice of 3 menu’s each month. Each menu has a slightly different set of  items to complement the diverse needs of their subscribers.

This month I opted for Menu 1

To see what was available this month please click here.

The box included 3 full sized products, 1  incomplete trial sample set  and 3 tea sachet samples. The box mainly consisted of  Beauty and Lifestyle Products this month.

It appears that April’s and this month’s menu has changed some what as according to Love Me Beauty they are now a beauty and lifestyle box which is certainly was not the case when I first signed up a few months ago. So this sudden and unannounced change explains the non beauty items within their boxes this month and the last.

1.    TeaPigs Chocolate Flake Tea – 3 Tea Bag sachet samples.  RRP £1.30 for a two sample pack.

I’ve heard of this brand but never actually tasted any of their tea so felt a little bit of research was needed!

Nick and Louise started teapigs in November 2006. They met whilst working for a really big tea company, where they learned all about tea and drank lots of it. They came to realise something: that there’s a whole world of quality teas out there that simply aren’t getting the attention they deserve. And so teapigs was born.

I got the Chocolate Flake Tea as it seemed different to the average normal tea and herbal tea. This a strong tea with a hint of dark, rich, chocolate as per their statement ” Choccie biscuits dunked in tea”. Every chocolate lover’s dream!

I opened the sachet and to my amazement this wasn’t your average paper tea bag! It was made out of organza type material and visible enough for you to see the dried tea leaves and this is why ” we know that whole leaf tea just doesn’t work in regular paper teabags. This bothers us, as whole leaf tea gives you a far better cuppa – And so the tea temple was born – a roomy, biodegradable mesh bag, which offers all the space whole leaves need to infuse properly”- absolutely amazing!

I tried the tea with a hint of milk and I’ve got to admit the smell was so aromatic. Tasted good too however a bit too sweet for my liking. I would maybe have this in the evening as a alternative to hot chocolate.  Overall a good tea and TeaPigs have a wide selection of flavours to choose from.

2.    Set of 3 Notebooks from Go Stationary –  A Full Set RRP £5.00

Now you may laugh but I mainly chose this menu from Love Me Beauty all because of these cute little vintage ditsy notebooks.

I absolutely love these they are so pretty and small enough to pop into your handbag.

Whilst this isn’t a beauty item I certainly had no qualms in receiving these as they will certainly help in keeping me a bit more organised!

A nice addition to the box.

3.    Nail Girls Nail Varnish in Nude Pink – Full Size RRP £13.50

This is a brand I haven’t heard of however it seems quite high end mainly because of the price tag.

The brand has been set up by two sisters. Their nail polish is chemical-free, which is great for mothers who are breastfeeding and women who are pregnant. Nailgirls is a British company.

The colour I received was nude pink which is a lovely tone and I look forward to trying this out over the weekend.

4.     Raw Skincare Natural Lip Balm in a hint of mint- Full Size RRP £1.98

Another brand which is new to me.  Their philosophy Natural skincare that doesn’t cost the earth. Stay beautiful, naturally”. –  a complete steal at £1.98

I received the hint of mint lip balm. This is a cooling lip balm that protects and calms sore dry lips instantly and contains coconut oil and cocoa butter.

This smells quite minty but its not overpowering to a point it makes your lips burn! This was quite hydrating and moisturising  and in my view is a good lip balm and actually preferred it to the Burt’s Bee’s one that I am currently using.

5.  Suti Trial Pack Cleanse, Purity and Fabulous Foot Balm – 3 sample pots RRP £6.50

Firstly the fact that it is stated that this trial pack retails for £6.50 is incorrect on the Love Me Beauty menu card as on Suti’s website the trial pack actually includes three other items too. Please click here to see the actual trial pack. This trial pack did not include these items and was brought to my attention by a fellow blogger the lovely Claire at silvervexcebo

Anyway with my rant over I have never come across this brand however balm based products are becoming quite popular as I have already received a substantial amount this year already!

Suti is a partnership between sisters-in-law Suzannah Jenkins and Tina Steadman. They believe beauty is more than skin deep and choosing the finest, active, organic ingredients is just the beginning.

These three items came in little sample pots and unfortunately I didn’t try the  cleanse balm as my skin is currently in turmoil at the moment and don’t want to irritate it even more.

This cleanser bursts is an uplifting oil that melts instantly into the skin, penetrating the dermis and drawing out impurities, cleansing the skin of dirt, pollutants and make-up. It also states that you can apply this as a face mask whilst in the bath!

The purifying balm can be used on the face and body and includes a rescuing blend of Sunflower, Sesame and Apricot Kernel to nourish and protect; Shea Butter, Chamomile and Calendula to help calm and soothe irritated, inflamed and blemished skin, and Lavender to rejuvenate and revive tired complexions. I like the sound of this balm just what I currently need!

Finally the fabulous foot balm. I spend most of my time in shoes and it’s such a relief to finally take them off after a tiring day at work. I’m always neglecting my feet mainly because it’s an area which I forget about it. I’m forever painting my toes however when it comes to some TLC for my feet I’m somewhat slack! So last night I smothered my feet with this balm and went to sleep with my socks on to retain the product! By morning I did notice a little difference however not to a point where I would use this again or buy.

My Verdict

I am slightly disappointed with Love Me Beauty this month as it appears that April’s and this month’s menu’s have changed some what and this is why – according to Love Me Beauty they are now a beauty and lifestyle box which is certainly not what I signed up to a few months ago. So this sudden and unannounced change explains the non beauty items within their boxes this month and the last. There were many people unhappy this month and I really am not surprised however on a positive note it was nice to receive some thing different  this month. The worst thing is I’m a sucker for pretty little products and think I only chose a box this month because of the notebooks!!!

I definitely feel some what deceived by the incomplete Suti Trial set included in the box this month  – where were the other three products which should of been in this set as per Suti’s website. These were not included and therefore the claims of this costing £6.50 is false.

The tea bags were in every menu this month. What if you’re not a fan of tea like many subscribers? It would be nice to see a more diverse product range which everyone can make use out of.

This is within the  same price range as the other beauty boxes which I review.  Out of the 5 items 3 of them were full sized.

The value of this box is £22.43 beating the actual cost of the box however I have not included the cost of the Suti trial pack for the reasons above.

Overall not a bad mix this month and I’m not too disappointed. However the sudden change in Love Me Beauty’s concept defeats the purpose of my blog and all things beauty which is such a shame. I really  like Love Me Beauty, their selection of products were great. I will have to wait to see what next month brings.
