Whilst I love all my beauty box deliveries, Period Box is namely the one box which has very quickly become a necessity for me, not because of the practicality itself but the actual thoughtfulness behind the concept which is to pamper their customers with a variety of chic and premium treats when they need it the most. The *July Period Box features a lovely line up of beauty and lifestyle treats, and in comparison to last month’s edition it’s definitely back on form. As always the box comes to my rescue reliably on time as promised to get me through the next few days in the nicest possible way.
Period Box is a premium UK monthly subscription service that bundles your choice of tampons and pads with hand-picked goodies and exquisite treats to cheer you up when you most need it. With every box you will receive a selection of premium teas, chocolates from artisan manufacturers, high-end beauty samples and an unique design gift or a beautiful art print by their featured artist of the month. Period Box literally takes care of everything and will ship your package five days before your period is due and no matter what your preferences are your box is completely bespoke to meet your needs both day and night.
Inside the box you can expect to see all your treats individually wrapped which is something I love, it really gives the feel of opening presents. As well as the monthly essentials the box also included five additional items to enjoy and indulge in making that time of the month much more bearable.
1. Period Essentials (2-3 days cycle)
As always I go for the short flow customised package which is for a 2-3 days cycle that consists of a mixture of pads suitable for both day and night. Inside the box is 10 pads (mixture of day and night pads) with four liners too. Period Box caters for all types of flows and your preferences can be chosen when you curate your box.
For me personally the box always includes the perfect amount of pads and liners from Always, a brand that I trust and turn to and find them super comfortable, reliable and discreet.
2. Madara Detox Mask and Time Miracle Eye Cream Sachet
I’ve had a really good opportunity this year to discover the brand Madara and this mask in particular is one of my firm favourites from their collection so I’m pleased to have a back-up.
The Madara Detox Mud Mask contains Nordic forest lake mud and it’s aim is to clean, tighten pores and conditions, to leave the skin fresh, matte and revitalised.
This hard-working mask offers five effects which clarifies, detoxifies. rejuvenates, recharges and hydrates and is recommended to be used twice a week as clarifying treatment for oily, combination skin, skin with enlarged pores, blemishes, acne, and to combat skin dullness, tiredness and occasional inflammation it can be used once a week. If that’s not impressive the mask is also suitable for vegans, is nut free, cruelty free and natural and organic. If you suffer from breakouts during your period this offers real benefits and it’s definitely my go-to when my skin is in turmoil.
There’s also a sample sachet Madara’s Time Miracle Eye Cream which claims to firm and reconstruct skin around the eyes with an unique water-free formula including Birch juice and organic cellular repair complex Galium7 with Madara (Galium verum) extract and active Northern plant.
3. Ciate Mini Nail Polish in “Cupcake Queen”
Despite owning far too many nail varnishes I’m always happy to see the brand Ciate and this summary hot pink is very wearable and just the type of colour I go for.
4. Women’s Energy from Yogi Tea – 3 Tea Bag sachets
Whatever your cup of tea, I love that Period Box include a variety of unique tea’s from different companies, mainly sourced from brands I’ve not heard of before. This month’s box features three tea bag samples from Yogi Tea.
Woman’s Energy Tea enhances your overall well-being and harnesses your feminine energy during all stages of life. Purposefully formulated to work with your body, this special formula contains Dong Quai, the queen of Chinese herbs, which has been traditionally used to support reproductive health and to help balance and ease you through your cycles. I feel particularly lazy and lethargic during the time of the month and this tea sounds perfect for that much needed boost.
5. Green & Blacks Hazelnut & Raisins Milk Chocolate Bar – Full Size 85g RRP £2.49
Period Box really know how to spoil a girl and all subscribers can expect to see a full sized bar of chocolate inside their box each month giving you a real chocolate fix as when you need it the most.
This month showcases Green & Blacks, a popular brand who have wide variety of classic and quirky flavoured chocolate bars.
Fully loaded and very moreish, the Hazelnut & Raisins bar leaves no bite lacking and is chock full of the good stuff. 5 years ago I mysteriously became allergic to certain types of nuts which meant my favourite all time fruit and nut chocolate was a no go area due to the almonds but this actually tastes so much better and I’m delighted to have found an alternative.

Every month you can expect to see a unique gift from an art print, stationery to hand crafted jewellery.
This month features a pretty postcard sized print from Filipz who not only is the co-owner of Period Box but a talented artist too. The print really embraces summer, I love the quote!
My Verdict
Period Box always manages to put a smile on my face as well as preparing me for the next few days in the nicest possible way, they really leave no stone unturned and as well as saving me last minute trips to the supermarket they provide a complete survival kit which helps me look and feel human again. The July edition in terms of the beauty line up is definitely a step in the right direction compared to last month with everything being very usable. With this box it’s not just about the contents you receive but the experience of the unboxing itself, it’s filled with so much love that demonstrates that the founders are very passionate about the subject and really know the way to a girl’s heart!
We all look for comforts and indulgence in the form of sweet offerings and pampering treats to get us through the cycle and this box has something for the first day to even the last day of your period whilst accommodating for all of the uncanny stuff that happens in between!
